My wife showed me this cover a couple weeks ago (her being the country fan and me being pure metal). I couldn't believe what I was listening to. Astounding, I thought it was great. However, it was just right now that I watched the music video. This changes everything. The video adds a level of intensity and darkness I simply did not expect, even from a song like this. I am dumbfounded. Truly unbelievable. Well done when you can bring even a hardass like me to tears.

I’m a Canadian citizen and this song hits just as hard for us up here as it does down there. I’ve started to realize now just how much in my life I take for granted. And for that i am really ashamed. For someone to walk onto a battlefield and lay down there life at a moments notice for me to live the life I do makes me just drop to my knees. Who am I to deserve that? Really we should all be asking ourselves that question.

I am so glad y'all didn't end your lives. I had everything planned out and set up to take my life. I couldn't handle the physical or emotional pain. I had been in an MVA in June of 1995. My husband had MS, but he could be vicious in the things he said. I did physical therapy wnd meds for a year. My spouse berated me about the pain I was in. He called me a whore, bitch, etc. Said that I didn't know what pain was. He decided that he had to go with to PT. Therapist put me in traction. Husband had me as a captive audience. Called me whimp, whore, and others that I will not repeat. So, everything was reacy to go that evening. Sometimes when the pain would get intense I'd lay on the floor with one of my kees all the way up to my chest. But this day I fell asleep. God showed me what my daughters life would be like if I took my life. It would've been pure hell. I saw it all in full color. When I woke up I was I tears. I decided at that moment I couldn't do that to her. A few months later I told my daughter. But only because one of the youth took a whole bottle of ibuprofen or Tylenol. 9ne of the youth pastors was there. She told me that I needed to let her know all of it. So I did. I promised her and God that night that no matter how bad things got I wouldn't take my own life. That was 1996. I'm happy to say that I never broke that promise. I am thankful to God for showing me what would happen if I did. I let a guy have it when he suggested that someone take their own life. That is so wrong on so many levels. I will tell anyone who suggests some to do that they're an ass. Not everyone gets to see what will happen to their children, parents, and other families would go thru. I did. I asked for help. If you need help, please get help.
